Katie Skinner, born and raised in Brookfield, IL, is a Brooklyn-based performer and dance maker. She has had the pleasure of performing works by Beth Gill, John Jasperse, Joanna Kotze, Nicholas Leichter, David Dorfman & Kendra Portier, Kayle and Company, Charlotte Adams DanceSean Thomas Boyt, and Caitlin Cullen Dance. Her most recent performance projects have been with Nattie Trogdon, Nikki and The Noise, and long-time collaborator Emily Climer.

Katie's choreography has been shown at Martha Graham Studios, Center for Performance Research, Old First Reformed Church through Spoke the Hub, Triskelion Arts, Dancewave, DåncēHøLø, University of Iowa, and Hollins University. She has taught dance for ages 3-12 for University of Iowa Youth Ballet & School of Dance in Iowa City, IA, and for Dancewave in Brooklyn. Katie taught class for adults and pre-professionals at Gibney and Mark Morris Dance Center.

Katie is invested in supporting dance scholarship. She served as Editorial Assistant for The Oxford Handbook of Dance and Politics and for Dr. Rebekah Kowal's latest monograph, Dancing the World Smaller: Staging Globalism in Mid-Century America. Currently, she is Editorial Assistant for Dance Research Journal, and she works for Starr Whitehouse Landscape Architects and Planners as their Office Manager.

Katie received a BFA in Dance and a BA in English from the University of Iowa, as well as her Copyediting Certificate through University of San Diego's Extension Program.
